Joe Hertz now lives in Nanton, Alberta, though he was born in South Dakota, he has spent most of his life in Alberta.  Starting at the tender age of four, Joe has been playing the fiddle for 20 years.

His repertoire includes Classical, Eastern European, Irish Traditional, Old Time, Cowboy and many more. His primary focus has been on Traditional Irish music.

Joe was a member of the Calgary-based youth group, the Calgary Fiddlers and had the opportunity to share the stage with other artists such as Mark O'Connor and Natelie MacMaster.

Joe and his fiddle are in constant high demand, and he plays with several groups locally and internationally including David Wilkie and Cowboy Celtic, The Polyjesters and the Wild Colonial Boys.

The recording studio is no stranger to Joe with numerous recordings under his belt and as well as on Fair Haven's "Better Days" album.
